Lifted off by a crane for a restoration slated to last a year, possibly two, the Mount Royal cross has left an empty tower atop the mountain. Vague promises, a stretchable timeline, a Catholic heritage that keeps fading: many Quebecers fear it will never return. I'm calling on the City to put a return date in writing.

It then reportedly gained momentum through high school protests that began in Créteil on September 21.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon is finally proposing a sharp reduction in immigration to Quebec: half as many temporary residents, selection based on French proficiency, a moratorium on permanent economic immigration from abroad, and a hard cap at 35,000. For once, the half-measures stop. The real question is whether this common sense will hold against Ottawa or whether independence will be required to make it irreversible.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon’s government is preparing to cut public funding to religious schools, the ones that receive a tax credit as religious organizations. Announced in Granby on September 27, the pledge is now the line of the new Parti Québécois government. After years of secularism with a double standard — neutrality on the podium, confessional cheques in the back room — Quebec is finally taking its schools back. Taxpayers’ money is not there to train the faithful.

Quebec is not an island. What happens to our French cousins concerns us. Thomas Perotto, a 16-year-old rugby player, was stabbed to death on 19 November 2023 as he left the winter village ball in Crépol, a hamlet of 500 people in the Drôme. Nearly three years later, investigating judges retained the aggravating circumstance of racism: the acts were committed because the victims belonged to “the white race and the French nation.”

This was a late reversal, obtained against the prosecutor’s office, which preferred to speak of a “futile motive.” Witnesses had reported from the beginning remarks such as “we’re here to plant Whites,” “kill French people,” “waste the little Whites,” or “dirty French scum.”

The facts are no longer in dispute. On September 4, at suppertime, Jordan Gagné, a 23-year-old barber and father, was gunned down on Alexandre Street in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Police sources say the job was a $500 contract. Eighteen days later, the Sûreté du Québec issued a nationwide warrant for Ayoub Mohamed, 19, of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, wanted for first-degree murder. What official Quebec still prefers to drown in jargon is what this killing says about who we let in, who we refuse to send back, and what a small nation can still afford to import.

We are told not a penny will go to Hamas. Since October 7, 2023, Ottawa has already committed more than $600 million. Ukraine has received more than $25 billion. Meanwhile, 2.2 million visits to food banks in a single month, one in four Canadians facing food insecurity, rents eating the paycheck. Two wars. Two bills. One taxpayer. It was not a commission, not a court, and not mandated by the government. Fifty people testified under oath out of more than 1,400 who asked. This chronicle explains what the Allison Inquiry was, what was heard, and why those four days matter to someone who lived a version of the same story.

Four seconds, a petition ignored, an oath on the Quran, a prayer that spoke of the sword against infidels, a ceremonial pen handed to the lawyer of an al-Qaeda terrorist: the question is no longer protocol.
On Saturday, 5 September, a delegation from the Hindu movement BAPS was granted a private visit to the Eiffel Tower on one condition accepted by management: keep female staff out of the way. Women were pulled from their posts, some were replaced by men, others were told to wait out of sight in back rooms. On Monday the national monument shut down. Behind SETE’s belated apology and the Socialist City Hall’s outrage lies a single fact: in Paris, equality between the sexes recedes the moment a foreign religious demand arrives at the foot of the Iron Lady.

Since March 18, 2026, Josh D’Amaro — a parks man, not a studio creature — has been at the helm of Disney.
Three children strangled in a basement. A mother who denies nothing. And three years later, women in pink outside the courthouse, TikToks of living babies being rocked to the caption Same, Lindsay. The Clancy case is no longer only a trial about postpartum psychosis. It is a portrait of a double standard — and of a culture willing to stand behind the most unforgivable act, so long as the person who did it is a woman.

A historic wooden church in New Brunswick’s Acadian Peninsula burned to the ground in the early hours of August 24, 2026. The suspected arson at Saint-Simon is the latest in a series of church fires that have destroyed dozens of places of worship across Canada since 2021, erasing physical landmarks of community memory and faith.
